One of c 150 Airbus A380s, the largest passenger aircraft currently flying, makes its final approach to Heathrow Airport.  Depending on the seating configuration, between 525 and 853 passengers can be accommodated and, at a mere £248M apiece, they're a snip by anyone's standards!

The residents of Waye Avenue, Cranford, find themselves directly under the flightpath when Heathrow's runway 27R is being used for landing or 09L for take-off

Denham Lock on the Grand Union Canal

The Grand Union Canal and the London Loop ("The M25 for Walkers") share common ground for a section between Hayes and Uxbridge

The beach at Sandbanks on a pleasant January morning

Not sure what purpose this reflective device serves.  It may be some sort of publicity vehicle to attract visitors to the adjacent Branksome cliff railway

I'm not averse to taking the odd surreptitious photograph of unsuspecting passers-by but the woman in the foreground is really pushing her luck!

A Class 143 DMU approaches Lympstone Commando station which is a rare example of a railway station that isn't officially open to members of the public - only personnel bound for the Royal Marines training base are allowed to use the station.  The Exeter - Exmouth railway has been named the Avocet Line after the wading birds that live in the estuary
